Washing machine backs up in kitchen sink

Forum Title: Washing machine backs up in kitchen sink

I'm thinking I need to install a back flow valve or check valve to insure this stops, especially since I'm about to install 2nd floor bathtub and shower drain in washing machine drain line on first floor. Kitchen sink drains fine, although it is not a lot of water like washer, so I am assuming issue is volume of water produced by washer. Please help. Thanks

What you have is a partial blockage. Washing machine and kitchen sink should never share a branch. Have the drain professionally cleaned and you will not have any back up issues.

have tried that and it did not help and in any case I can't take chance with bathtub draining into that line cant do much about washer and kitchen on same branch either
