Forum Title: Hot water only lasts 30-45 seconds.
Good afternoon everyone! I have a brand new 50 gallon electric water tank (I installed 3 months ago) I have replaced every inch of water from the meter back with PEX all in the last 3 months as well. Everything was working great until I went to tie in the additional 2 bathrooms of the remodel into the system. The bathrooms are not in use yet (copper stubs on hot and cold) Verified I did not accidentally cross a hot and cold service at any point. I am at a real loss. If the bathrooms were in use I could understand possibly being short on hot water, but with the fact they are capped seems like it should not be an issue. Both IN/OUT on the water heater are going straight up (no bend) I have heard some people loop them, but never knew why. Any ideas or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! A week of cold showers is beyond enough. Thanks Keith

You know as I was typing this that was exactly what came to mind!!! The shower is capped as well. If the valve is open would it cause the water to mix and allow the cold water through the hot water?
